BAMBOOZLE '08

So thanks to BUZZNET I got to check out this years Bamboozle Festival. There were loads of great artists this year like, Paramore, Snoop Dogg, Circa Survive, Panic at the Disco, Coheed and Cambria, Every Time I Die, MXPX and more. Unfortunately I couldn't get out of work on Saturday but I did get to go Sunday, May 4th. In the early morning it was kinda overcast and gloomy out but it never rained and it got super sunny out around noon or so. That was a wonderful surprise considering the weather forecast had a 60% chance of rain. =D

First band I ran over to see was THE BANNER playing the Rebel Youth Records Stage.

I didnt get super close for them considering I was in 4-inch heels like an idiot. But they were a lot of fun.

Shortly thereafter, I was walking by to see the singer of The Maine saying a quick hello to some screaming 14 yr olds.

How sweet.

At this point I grabbed a beer for $7.75 and wondered what possessed me to spend that much for 1 drink. I don't even like beer unless its Corona with a lime of course. Ok rambling. So I catched a little of FINCH after The Banner finished. Brought me right back to '03 let me tell you. haha. Walked around a little, signed some autographs...lame, I know. Played Singstar with my friend Jess. Caught a little COBRA STARSHIP, but bounced to see THE SECRET HANDSHAKE.

I had too much fun during this set. I got in a fist fight trying to get closer to the stage. That was fun. Dumb bitch. She definitely won't start shit with anyone else that pushes past her. But the fight was worth it cause Luis is fantastic. <3

ANTI-FLAG?

I don't remember because at this point 1 beer had turned into...a few more. But I think this was ANTI-FLAG which is who I was fully stoked on seeing the whole drive to Jersey and I don't even remember them. =/

CIRCA SURVIVE!!!!

Anthony Green is probably one of the most talented lyricists/writers/performers or this generation. I love everything he puts out.

Checked out a few songs during I AM THE AVALANCHE to kill some time.

I hadn't seen them play in awhile. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Finallyyyyyyy it was 5:15 and I was pressed up between the Kool-Aid man..only it was a woman and a man in a cowboy hat smoking tree. ahaha. Guess where I was??

The Asbury Park Stage waiting for BRET MICHAELS!! Ok, I won't go into my obsession with him but now that he's a "tv star" I'm sure some of you can see why I love him. While we're waiting, chanting for Bret to come out I see Big John.

hahaha. He's a doof. <3 So while we're waiting and boiling hot in the heat I take the only 2 pics of me and my friend Jess that I did all day. I wish I would've taken more now. Oh well.

I had to crouch since I'm like 5'11" in those boots. haha.

There you see Kool-Aid in the background. (I made Jess switch with me. haha)
I also spy JEFFREE STAR off to the side with CHRIS CROCKER...at least that's who the girl next to me said it was.

Finally, the band comes out...

...and eventually so does Bret!!!

He was just too beautiful so I push closer:

At this point Jess starts clawing at my shoulder screaming to look to stage right (from where we are). It's Claudio from COHEED AND CAMBRIA, Jess' favorite band and also rather up there on my list of all time faves. So we have a little nervous breakdown and then we see

Claudio and Travis start setting up. They do the last song of his set with Bret. It was seriously the highlight of 2008 so far for me. Fucking phenomenal.

Saying goodbye to them sucked but at least Coheed was playing later. I LOVE YOU BRET!!!!

After Bret's set my feet were shot so I got a security guard to let me run to the car and change quick. Gotta love changing in parking lots. You're welcome boys in the black nissan. haha. So I head back inside and grab something to eat with Jess. Met up with a bunch of friends and relaxed for awhile until EVERY TIME I DIE. I was now in jeans and sneakers so I handed my stuff off to Jess and cracked heads with the boys. EMMURE played the same stage right after ETID. They were fucking br00t41 as always. haha. I didn't see Jesse. That made me sad but oh well. He's always around.

After EMMURE we ran over to Coheed. Jess went right into the belly of the beast. The crowd was enormous and there was still 15 mins until they were scheduled to play. I opted to stay in the back and just cool off for awhile. It was surprisingly my first time seeing Coheed and they were just amazing. I can honestly say I wasn't disappointed at all. So I head over to the Himalaya ride to meet up with my friend Brett (he did the photos of me with the RAVE! RAVE! RAVE! shirt) I'm walking when I hear someone call me and it was my friend Rich who I didn't expect to see there so that was nice. We met up with Brett and just talked and caught up on each others' lives. I missed them a lot. So around 9:10 we head over to the Asbury Park Stage one final time to see PANIC AT THE DISCO. There was a mass exodus from the Coheed stage to Panic's since they were back-to-back sets. It was nuts.I hung around until I got to hear Panic play my favorite song, "Lying is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off." Panic never disappoints. They are one of the few bands that honestly deserves all the fame and success they're enjoying. So I said goodbye to my friends and we left a little early to beat the traffic out of the parking lot. Great success!

Overall, I'd say Bamboozle is definitely worth checking out. There's a ton of talented artists, cool people, sweet contests, free rides and just a rockin' good time to be had. Thanks Buzznet!!!

Be sure to check out my videos to ride THE HIMALAYA with me and my friend Rich.

Catch you all at WARPED TOUR! <3

fuckin sick d00d

...it sucks. I never get sick so this one knocked me on my ass. It's like a head cold/flu and it also incites rage and severe depression to the point of developing suicidal tendencies. Not these guys:

...real ones. haha. No but seriously, its bad...well good if you like feeling like youre drowning in mucus. haha.
I've only stayed home for a full day once in the last week of dreadful sickness too. I wish I could've just stayed home the whole time. "/ My mommy bought me a purple, pink and white pony stuffed animal. It's cute.

Messy hair and having to go out when your sick is shitty. Oh well, at least i have cute tissues.

TRISH VICIOUS: Top 10 Power Ballads

Power ballad - a colloquialism used to describe a type of song performed (but not necessarily written) by a hard rock or heavy metal band that is atypical of the songs defined by the hard rock and heavy metal genres...

...translation:  when heavy bands turn into pussies for a song or two.  haha.

Personally, I think the power ballad has it's place in the grand scheme of life (ie going 70 down the highway with the windows down, blasting "Here I Go Again On My Own"  and loving every awesomely embarrassing moment of it.)

These are my top 10 favs:

10. "Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)" Cinderella
9. "I Remember You" Skid Row
8. "Is This Love?" Whitesnake
7. "Every Rose Has It's Thorn" Poison
6. "Love Bites" Def Leppard
5. "Without You" Motley Crue
4. "Honestly" Stryper
3. "Sometimes When She Cries" Warrant
2. "Still Loving You" The Scorpions
1. "Alone Again" Dokken

What do you think? Too crybaby? Or totally rockin? What are your fav power ballads? Let me know in a comment and remember to buzz buzz buzz. ;]

TRISH VICIOUS: 5 Most Obnoxious 'Costume Bands...'

...and by obnoxious i mean fucking awesome!

Some bands are all about costumes and not just to portray a certain image, some even incorporate it into their live show. ie: King Diamond

5.
Sweet mic stand. haha.

4. SLIPKNOT

You knew you'd see them up here.

3. BEHEMOTH

Majestic fucking metal.

2. KISS

Gotta appreciate a man in a pleather unitard. haha.

and finally...the most obnoxiously awesome costume band of all time......

1. GWAR

Without a doubt the most pointless, ridiculous display of showmanship, filth and perversion you'll ever witness live. Definitely a must-see. ;] I LOVE YOU GWAR!

So that's my top 5 most awesome costume bands. What are some of yours??

So as I was reading about last nights premiere in LA I came across this photo and realized, I'd really like to know what Pete's thinking in this shot:

Haha. What do you guys think he's thinking here?
